Japanese chicken karage Recipe for one person

Japanese chicken karage Recipe for one person only cook in airfryer

Sure! Here's a recipe for Japanese chicken karage that can be cooked in an air fryer. This recipe is tailored for one person:

Ingredients:

- 200g boneless chicken thigh, cut into bite-sized pieces

- 2 tablespoons soy sauce

- 1 tablespoon sake (Japanese rice wine) or dry white wine

- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated

- 1 clove garlic, minced

- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (cornflour)

- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

- Vegetable oil spray

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, sake, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to overnight in the refrigerator) to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.

2. In a separate bowl, mix together the cornstarch and all-purpose flour. This will be used to coat the chicken.

3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes.

4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the excess liquid. Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel to remove any moisture.

5. Dip each chicken piece into the flour mixture, making sure it's evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

6. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with vegetable oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

7. Cook the chicken in the air fryer for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through, flipping the pieces halfway through the cooking time for even browning.

8. Once cooked, transfer the chicken karage to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

9. Serve the chicken karage hot with lemon wedges on the side. You can enjoy it as is or serve it with a side of rice, steamed vegetables, or a salad.

Enjoy your homemade Japanese chicken karage!
